Hi All,Currently we have configured Adobe Document Service (ADS) on our SAP Portal (only JAVA) system and we have connected our SAP ECC system to this and using ADS on ECC.But we want to setup ADS as a separate system on a separate server which will be dedicated only for ADS and other systems will connect to it.We want to install and configure Adobe Document Service (ADS) separately without JAVA.1. Can we install only ADS i.e.
Without SAP Portal or any SAP ABAP system on aseparate? If yes, how many SAP systems we can connect to it? SAP ECC, CRM, etc. And nwhat is the procedure for installation and configuration.2. If not, can we use Only ABAP system and configure ADS on this system?how many SAP systems we can connect to it? What is the procedure for installationand configuration.Kindly request you to help me on this?Regards,Suhas.
ADS is part of the SAP NetWeaver installation, usage type AS Java. ADS can be used in different scenarios. Checking the IIOP Service and the Start-up Properties Start the configuration tool of the AS Java Run.
Hi All,Thanks for the information. As I mentioned, I have already configured ADS on a separate JAVA instance and connected to our ECC EHP5 system and it's working fine. But customer is more interested to implement ADS without JAVA.I got some information that SAP has come up with ADS for ECC EHP5 and EHP6. There you will have ADS as part of ECC installation and you will have to do some configuration i.e. It will not depend on AS JAVA instance.I don't have the concrete information, I also tried to find some Notes and documents on wiki about this, but couldn't get it.Regards,Suhas.

The purpose of this configuration information is to describe the configuration steps required to set up the Adobe document services (ADS). ADS is part of the SAP NetWeaver installation, usage type AS Java. ADS can be used in different scenarios.Checking the IIOP Service and the Start-up Properties. Start the configuration tool of the AS JavaRun /usr/sap///j2ee/configtool.bat. Check if the start-up mode of the service IIOP is set to always. In the left frame, open the tree Cluster data → Global dispatcher configuration → Services.
Choose service IIOP. The field Start-up mode in the right frame must be set to always.
